Garden project

Residents at Ty Countisbury have been spending many hours these last few months tending to the garden and the vegetable patch.

The conservatory has provided the ideal growing conditions for tomatoes and many other seeds such as carrots, radishes, leeks and onions which continued their journey in the raised beds.

Residents have also taken the time to keep the lawn and patio tidy, as well as begin the refurbishment of the shelter. Hopefully it will have a full beach feel in time for the heat of the summer.

When the weather is not as good, the conservatory becomes a great space for games and tea.

Residents have enjoyed taking ownership of the plants and garden. They have been using the time to learn more about growing their own herbs and vegetables. The time is also an opportunity for residents to get out of their rooms and socialise with staff and fellow residents.
